interfacing with a DOS program.

I have a fido BBS based on DOS (Win95) and I'm migrating it to linux. Right
now I have both machines answering one line each and connected on a small
LAN. The win95 machine can connect linux directories using SAMBA so I want
to know if there is a way to avoid making the DOS machine (frontdoor) having
to call the linux one to transfer fido mail:

Is there a way to make the linux machine create files in a format FMAIL can
understand so it TOSS directly to the message base?

This second one maybe is off topic: I have my DOS BBS running as a uucp
gateway to provide internet e-mail to fido users. I just set up the linux
machine to get mail using uucp also and want to do the same (the linux
machine to transfer all the mail and leave it in a format the DOS one can
process it using Watergate)

Thanks in advance for all your help.
