That would show disrespect to the hosting network. They are not likely
complaining at seeing "ifmail" in the tearline, but instead at seeing
other things in the messages.

Moderators try to do a job, and frankly if I got a message like you've
suggested he should write, well, I'm afraid it wouldn't sail. :(
There was a reason for the moderation in the first place, and that type
of response does nothing to resolve the problem.

The best thing for Chris to do is to clean up his system and satisfy the
complaint. Unable to do so, then he should drop the echo as requested.
The rest of us need to see that the latter does not happen.
